MIKE DAY, BMX
Mike Day can always say he was on the first BMX Olympic team for the United States. He can always says he was the first rider from the United States to win an Olympic medal in BMX.
But Day said he doesn't expect his life will be that different.
"Nothing seems different," said the 23-year-old Day, a graduate of Valencia High School. "Nothing's going to change much."
After winning a silver medal in the Beijing Olympics, Day returned to the professional BMX circuit. He raced in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and was part of the Dew Tour in Salt Lake City. After that, he's going to a bike trade show in Las Vegas.
At every event, he will be introduced as Olympic silver medalist Mike Day. Even though he said he doesn't feel any different, he called the Olympics the ultimate experience.
"I don't think anything will ever top it," Day said. "The whole deal was the coolest thing ever."
